MCS Finals Day – EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!
All the details for this Saturday’s tennis finals 🎾
Never mind Flushing Meadows in New York, this Saturday we’ll be flushing out the very best of Malvern tennis on our own meadows at MCS Finals Day!
☀️ Fingers crossed for sunshine (although forecast is looking a bit ⛈️), so don’t forget your suncream, sunnies and a trusty water bottle. To help keep you cool/dry, we’ll have gazebos and plenty of cold drinks on sale – whether you fancy a Coke, a cerveza, or a cheeky vino to steady the nerves (yours, not the players’).
And of course, bring your family, friends, neighbours, doubles partners and fiercest rivals. All are welcome!
Running Order 🗓️
10:30 – Singles Finals (Helen vs Ali // Ben vs Emil or Luke)
12:00 – BBQ Lunch (approx)
13:00 – Doubles Finals (Ali & Sue M vs Bella & Sue A // Emil & James P vs Luke & James B or Connor & Peter)
14:30 – Mixed Doubles Final (Ali & Emil vs Helen & Luke)
Bar & BBQ 🌭🍺☕
We’ll be serving up food and drinks to keep both spectators and players fuelled:
BBQ: Legendary MCS Burgers (plus veggie option)
Snacks: Crisps & biscuits – because spectating burns calories too
Drinks: Tea, coffee, soft drinks, beer (including alcohol-free), wine and Pimms
💰 All drinks are by voluntary donation – tea & coffee are free. Please bring cash (or card).
Seating 🪑
Bring your own chair, a mug if you’d like a hot drink, and a bit of cash for food & drinks. We’d hate to see anyone sat on the grass looking longingly at someone on a chair with a drink in hand!
Parking 🚗
It will be busy! Please cycle, walk or car share if you can. When you arrive, our “parking controllers” will be on hand – they take their jobs seriously (high-vis jackets may or may not be involved).
Dogs 🐶
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please remember: there’ll be a BBQ, plenty of tempting burgers, and we need peace & quiet during matches. (So if your pup thinks “quiet” is a ball-related conspiracy, best to leave them at home.)
We can’t wait to see loads of you there for a day of brilliant tennis, good food, and even better company.
