MCS Tournament - Finals Day on Sat 7 Sept  🏆

The tournament is in full swing now and it’s wonderful to see so many people playing in the evenings.  We’re getting to quarter and semi-finals stages now and things are hotting up as people compete for the chance to play on finals day and maybe even get your name on the board. Will there be any new names this year?

Make sure you have Finals Day on Saturday 7th September in your diary. It is always a wonderful occasion. Also, if you can lend a hand with one of the many jobs to make the day a success (parking, BBQ, gazebo setup, etc), please let Ali know.

Meet the committee - Sheila who looks after grounds and maintenance 📸

This month we are introducing you to a third member of the MCS Committee – Sheila Wilson.  Sheila is kept busy with a wide variety of jobs including flowers in the planters, getting the hedge trimmers, managing mowers, emptying septic tanks and getting our courts cleaned so we don’t slip and slide all over the place!

We asked Sheila a few questions:

Sheila on hols

When did you first play tennis?   At primary school - we had a tournament every year on a full-sized court.

Who is your tennis hero?  Not sure I have one, I am totally stunned by the fitness, resilience, stamina focus, and vision of so many. I take my hat off to any elite athlete, any sport.

Tell us something interesting about yourself. I have just taken up painting, my first efforts since 50 years nearly, and love it.

What 3 words sum you up?  Love travel, love languages, love the outdoors

Serve ‘n’ Snack Shack 🍫

Sorry we ran out of coke for a bit there. We have replenished supplies now so please tuck in! Prices are on the fridge door and money goes in the box in the cupboard.

We would love some new members. Let your friends and family know about the club. If an adult signs up due to your introduction then a lovely tube of Head balls will be yours. Please send Bella an email to claim your balls.
