Our wonderful tournament participants

🏆 American Tournament

Today (15th October) was a beautiful sunny autumnal day, perfect for our Autumn American Tournament. There was some fantastic tennis and a great atmosphere as people battled for victory. It was very close; in fact, four people got the same top score of 17 points to share the glory (and trophy!)

Thanks to everyone who played, and special congratulations to our four winners: Simon W, Alex W, Greg M & Ann C. Plus special thanks to Sue M for being in charge of running things, and of course, with Sue in charge, it all went very smoothly indeed!

🗓️ MCS AGM

Our AGM is at Mathon Village Hall on Monday 13th Nov from 7pm. A chance to hear about how the club is doing and share your ideas and feedback. Click here for more info.

There are opportunities to get more involved in running the club, including committee roles leading on comms, marketing and fundraising. Please get in touch with David Gibbard ([email protected]) if you are interested and would like some more details without any obligation.

🎾 Coaching with Kingsley

Starting this Thursday (19th Oct), our coach Kingsley is kicking off a new block of group coaching sessions. There are sessions for beginners, intermediate/advanced and cardio tennis - spaces are going fast but there is a waiting list if you miss out (some weeks not everyone can make it so there will be the chance to join). It’s £8/session for members or £10/session for non-members. Private coaching is also available on Thursdays only. More details and sign-up form here

🏆 MCS Tennis teams in H&W leagues

The Hereford & Worcester tennis winter league has kicked off, and we have six teams competing (2x men, 2x ladies and 2x mixed).

Fixtures, results and match reports (when captains provide them!) are all posted here on our website.

There are lots of home matches which are great to watch, plus supporters all help give us more of a home advantage! To view the home fixtures calendar online, click this link. If you’d like to add our home fixtures to your calendar, click this link to download ics, then open downloaded file to add to calendar you use.

💸 Half-season membership

At the start of September, we launched a reduced half-season membership costing £70 for an adult and £150 for a family (normally £120 and £250 respectively). So, if you know anyone who is considering trying tennis, this could be the moment! Here’s the link.
