Summer Singles ☀️

After a successful winter season of the MCS singles ladder we have, by popular demand, decided to run a summer singles ladder too. 

Format

The format is simple: each singles match lasts for 25 mins, whoever is winning at the end scores 3 points, the loser scores 1 point and, in the case of a draw, both players score 2 points.  At the end of the evening, you move your name up the ladder according to how many points you scored during the evening.

When

The summer singles starts on April 7^th and will run until July 28^th when there will be a final session of tennis, the traditional end of season curry in the club house and prize giving (see photo above!)

We are sticking to the format of running on a Monday night from 6pm.  A poll goes out over the weekend to see who is playing and then start times are adjusted to minimise waiting for a court.

Costs:

• £3 tournament joining fee payable on the first night

• Balls (approximately £2 per evening you play, depending on how many people play on the night)   

What you can expect

• Great tennis (many people claim that it has improved their tennis lots)

• A cardio workout every Monday evening (it is fast-paced)

• Great company (it is fun and relaxed)

• The chance to win a stellar trophy (and a bit of dressing up on the trophy night!)
